Elevate a mood

The tired ache of a long enduring an awful day
Comes to an exasperated end with a happy sigh
The warmth of home gives you a long-awaited smile
Another work day is now history in a diary

Refuelled by a cooked meal by a loved one
Aches of the day tiptoe a whisper to you
You melt into the love of childish laughter
As the TV groans about troubles in the world

A long work day is remembered with a sigh
You recount another story of earning a pay
While today becomes a forgotten memory
A wonderfully loving family elevates a mood

You are reminded why the day is worth it
As the safe sound of family rings out
The true souls that matter to your existence
Are the fresh air that makes everything worthwhile
