One eye crying

My mind whispers forgotten memories
Trying to grip the past with a mulish grit
Just wanting the past to remain with me
It slowly slips as my age ticks away

The ones in my life I fondly remember
They become a blur on my yesterdays
Their presence of importance remembered
Just can't remember every prized moment

Life continues with every breath taken
Important to remember the lost souls
A mission am proud to deliver forever
Instead, every day is a task to hang on

Constantly running into tomorrow
Just trying to keep dementia at bay
The worry of forgetting my loved ones
Brings on many one eye crying moments
